2026 Year of Discovery

We declare 2026 a year of Discovery. What it is to discover something is very different from what it is to know and understand it, even if you know and understand it so well that you can speak intelligently about it. To discover is not to learn, or to figure out, or to conclude. Authentic discovery requires the immense intellectual effort of directly discovering whatever it is — not stopping at finding examples of it, but getting to the thing in itself. This contrasts with simply understanding something as a concept, a theory, or someone else's discovery.

Many have been participating with the Mastery Foundation long enough to lose the experience of seeing and knowing the possibilities and outcomes of our work as if for the first time. This year, we want to challenge ourselves to uncover and reveal that work newly, as our own discovery.
