Three-year Cycle of Classes and Work
The School for Leadership curriculum consists of three annual cycles of
offerings. During the first cycle, participants focus on mastering and applying
the distinctions in their own leadership. During the second cycle, participants
shift their focus to coaching others as they master and apply the distinctions.
Finally, during the third cycle, participating leaders focus on the ability
to create and transfer the distinctions they have learned to others.
Each yearly cycle consists of the following programs:
- Foundations of Transformational Leadership, a five-day
residential program that grounds participants from all three regions in
the fundamental distinctions of grassroots transformational leadership.
Participants work directly with faculty and coaches.
- Leadership Clinic, a three-day, mid-year, regional
gathering conducted in participants' home countries to deepen and strengthen
the work begun at the Foundations of Transformational Leadership.
- Regional Learning Communities, self-organized study
groups in each region that convene regular meetings or conference calls,
working with their regional coordinator.
- Transformational Leadership in Action, a practicum
or field project where each participant works with a coach to apply the
distinctions being learned to areas calling for leadership.
- Distinctions in Leadership, three audio programs annually
featuring various distinctions relevant to the current cycle of the School.
- Assisting, hands-on training working with the teams
producing other Mastery Foundation programs during the year.
- Leadership Dialogues, two yearly international conference
calls to explore distinctions in the curriculum with faculty members.
